What Love Is Not
Blogs are a medium for expressing our opinions. Everything I write is simply that and no more. Since it's Valentine's Day (read: another excuse to spend money on unnecessary, unwanted and usually unhealthy items. ). Human LOVE IS NOT A FEELING, it is ACTION. When we love someone we DO something to help make their life fuller and richer. We ENCOURAGE them to seek their own dreams and honor themselves. We DEMONSTRATE to them, through our own actions, how to take care of THEMSELVES. We SHOW them how we have achieved our own goals. We don't relieve them of their responsibilities. We don't create burdens for them by allowing ourselves to become ill and needy. WE DON'T CO-SIGN THEIR BULLSHIT. We don't look the other way when they are hurting themselves or someone else. Human love is HARD, HARD WORK. It's not the same as the love of animals (or insects!). The difference is that human beings have choices__animals don't. I choose to love YOU today by managing my time and energy (they are the ONLY resources I really own) so that I can take the time to sit down and write. All I ever wanted to do was to do art and write. I spend about %70 percent of my waking time doing those two things. Oh yeah, BTW, what most folks call LOVE is really just a burning desire for good hot sex. Nothing wrong with that, but it ain't love.
